Abstract
An estimate of the magnitude of the symmetry-breaking term transforming as (1, 8)+(8, 1) is made using pole dominance in spectral-function sum rules. It is found that the corresponding parameter is probably not small as commonly believed, but approximately -1. The results are applied to decay, where the symmetry-breaking scheme discussed in conjunction with "weak partial conservation of axial-vector current" implies large negative values of .
