Abstract
The assumption of one-particle (pole) exchange at the quark level for leads to the decoupling, in the forward direction, of natural-parity particles (leading Regge trajectories) from octet-decuplet baryonic vertices. In the differential cross section of the reaction a dip is predicted at , for high . The study of this dip can lead to an estimate of the upper limit of the quark mass.
