Abstract

The energy dependence of the cross section for reactions K+nK*(890)p and KpK*(890)n is compared over a wide range of incident momenta and found to be identical. This excludes odd C-parity exchanges in addition to the dominant π exchange. The conventional absorption model does not reproduce the rapid decrease of ρ00 as a function of the four-momentum transfer. The Reggeized πA2 model of Dass and Froggatt reproduces the t dependence of ρ00 and Reρ10, but there is serious disagreement for ρ11 which may indicate the need to include A1 exchange. The asymmetry in the decay angular distribution is interpreted as SP wave interference.
