Abstract

A rigorous bound is calculated for the hadronic contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. The bound is free of phenomenological input; only the analyticity of the pion electromagnetic form factor is assumed. An improved bound is then calculated by using the experimental value of the electromagnetic radius of the pion as input.
