Possible new phase of QED from correlated narrow-peak structures observed in heavy-ion collisions

Abstract

We suggest that the correlated narrow-peak structures observed in heavy-ion collisions are due to decays of e+e and γγ systems formed in a new confining phase of QED.

  16. A similar model has been proposed in Ref. 7. However the authors of Ref. 7 used the nonrelativistic Schrödinger equation. The main advantage of our approach is that one can discuss both the e+e and γ gamma spectra.
