Abstract

We present a detailed Fock-space realization of the operatorial Chan-Paton factors suggested in a functional integral approach by Marcus and Sagnotti. The twist operator is explicitly constructed for the cases of SO(2D/2) and USp(2D/2) internal symmetries for any even integer D.
