Abstract

We compute the hadronic vacuum-polarization contributions av to the muon anomalous magnetic moment aμ. To improve on previous calculations, we use QCD at large energies, and exploit the analyticity properties of the pion form factor. We find av=(7100±105±49)×1011, with which we have aμ(theory)=(116 592 051±114±49)×1011. Purely QCD bounds for av are also presented.
