Abstract

In an SU(3)-symmetric quark model, double-charge-exchange scattering processes of the type PNPB, ΔQ(P,P)=±2, are investigated. The physical baryon octet is taken as 8 (physical)=8 cosθ+8 sinθ, where 8 and 8′ arise, respectively, from 33¯ and 36 contained in 333. In terms of the mixing angle θ, a number of predictions are made.
