Abstract
The kaon-cloud contribution to the magnetic moments of the nucleon octet is evaluated in the framework of the cloudy bag model. Only minor deviations from previously calculated values of magnetic moments are found. In particular, the relative values of and cannot be explained with the help of the kaon cloud. This feature is expected to hold in any additive (at the bare-baryon level) and SU(6)- symmetric model in which meson-cloud () effects can be treated perturbatively.
