Application of the Isgur-Karl model to the low-lying states of charmonium

Abstract
The low-lying states of the charmonium system are used as a test case for the application of the Isgur-Karl model to mesons. Fitting exactly to the and masses, the masses of the and are obtained within 0.7% of the experimental values. The constituent mass of the quark is predicted to be 1450 MeV.
