Abstract

A mixed two-component model is used to fit the available charged-particle multiplicity distribution from $pp$ , $π^{\pm} p$ , and $K^{\pm} p$ collisions and $e^{+} e^{-}$ and $\bar{p} p$ annihilations. Generally good agreement is obtained between theory and experiment with respect to the dispersion, and second, third, and fourth normalized moments. Koba-Nielsen-Olesen scaling is seen to hold approximately in this model.
