Inclusive $\psi$ distributions from $B$-meson decay are calculated on the basis of $b\to \psi s$ free-quark transitions with Fermi-momentum smearing; the results may be used to test the ideas of spectator dynamics and to identify experimental $B\to \psi X$ signals. Similar results are expected for inclusive $\psi$ spectra from $b$-baryon decays. For comparison, a model based on quasi-two-body decay modes $B\to \psi K, \psi K^{*}$, etc., is also studied; if the lighter $K^{*}$ resonances dominate, the $\psi$ spectra are broadly similar to those of the $b\to \psi s$ model.
