Abstract

The role of scalar mesons in nonleptonic kaon decay is analyzed. Two kinds of scalar mesons are considered, $S$ -wave $q^{2} {\bar{q}}^{2}$ and $P$ -wave $q \bar{q}$ composites. In particular, the $ε (700)$ $q^{2} {\bar{q}}^{2}$ composite cannot explain kaon decay.
