Abstract

We estimate the absolute values of the light current quark masses mu, md, and ms defined as parameters in the renormalized quantum-chromodynamic Lagrangian in two different ways. Our results are mu=1.8±0.7 MeV, md=4.3±1.7 MeV, and ms=112±66 MeV at the renormalization-point mass μ1 GeV.
