Abstract

We examine the assumption that the $B$ meson (1220 MeV, $J^{PC} = 1^{+ -}$ ) and its chiral partner are gauge fields. This leads to the introduction of an internal $SU (6)$ group which contains $SU (3) \times SU (3)$ as a sub-group. We discuss the appropriate formalism and mass degeneracy breaking by means of the use of non-linear realizations of the group.
