Abstract
An analysis of and data in terms of a -matrix model for the Pomeranchuk exchange and the absorptive corrected and Regge-pole contributions is presented. The model provides a quantitative understanding of high-energy and total cross-section measurements and the measured ratio of the real to the imaginary part of the elastic forward scattering amplitude. The structure observed in around Ge and in at Ge, the shrinkage patterns in both differential cross sections, and the crossover phenomenon are explained in the framework of this model.
