Abstract

A simplified form of a relativistic generalization of the eikonal approximation for wide-angle potential scattering provides a semiquantitative description of $p - p$ scattering at large energy and momentum transfer over a variation of more than five orders of magnitude in $\frac{d σ}{dt}$ . The model contains two adjustable parameters.
