Abstract

In this note we examine how a low-lying Regge trajectory provides a natural explanation of the departure from mirror symmetry in the πN elastic-scattering polarization at intermediate energy. This result confirms the conjecture of Dash and Navelet, who invoke the same mechanism in NN scattering.
