Abstract

The decay width of about 5 keV observed for ψee¯ implies that the SU(4) symmetry for the vector-meson-photon coupling constant γV is broken, and that the quantity γVMV12 (where mV is the mass of the vector meson V) obeys the symmetry. Using this experimental result in conjunction with vector dominance and broken SU(3), the author calculates the decay width for ρππ, and obtains Γ(ρππ)=142 MeV, in improved agreement with experiment.
