Effective Lagrangian for Nonleptonic Hyperon Decays with -Symmetry Breaking

Abstract
The hadronic decays of hyperons are discussed in the context of broken chiral symmetry, the breaking being introduced according to the prescription of Gell-Mann, Oakes, and Renner. The corrections due to symmetry breaking lead to contributions to the -wave amplitudes, giving better agreement with the experimental data, whereas the -wave amplitudes remain almost unchanged.
