The magnetic sublattice of A3MM’O3 family of compounds can be described as a set of magnetic chains forming a triangular lattice. Using state-of-the-art neutron diffraction experiments, the authors investigate the anomalies in the magnetic susceptibility and other unconventional magnetic properties for a member of this family, Sr3NiIrO3, which are thought to result from the interplay of low dimensionality, magnetic frustration, and magnetocrystalline anisotropy.

By investigating the infrared spectroscopic aspects of the pseudogap in prototypical cuprate and pnictide superconductors, the authors demonstrate that the former is not related to precursor superconductivity but rather has a direct bearing to the antiferromagnetic state of the parent materials.

The authors generalize previous calculations, to show that a predicted gap feature in the density of states of a chaotic cavity between superconductors remains under a broad range of contact types. In particular, they reveal that the gap feature is not restricted to a ballistic cavity, but is a more general property of these systems, which should facilitate experimental detection.

The authors generalize previous calculations, to show that a predicted gap feature in the density of states of a chaotic cavity between superconductors remains under a broad range of contact types. In particular, they reveal that the gap feature is not restricted to a ballistic cavity, but is a more general property of these systems, which should facilitate experimental detection.
