A microfluidic apparatus to measure first sound of Helium-4 in a confined geometry (length down to 5 microns) has been constructed. While no finite size effects compared to bulk properties are observed, the methods used point the way to the possible observation of such effects and the exploration of scaling laws near the superfluid transition in even more confining structures.
