Abstract

A renormalization-group treatment for growth kinetics is preesnted in the framework of the large-N Ginzburg-Landau model. An exact solution of the model is obtained. The structure function displays standard dynamic scaling for a nonconserved order parameter and multiscaling for a conserved order parameter.

  9. Here by multiscaling we refer to a property of the pair correlation function. This is a concept distinct from multifractality, which arises by introducing an appropriate measure on the growing domain, and so no confusion should arise, even though multiscaling has been used interchangeably on occasion in the literature as being synonymous to multifractality: C.Roland and M.Grant, Phys.Rev.Lett. 63, 551 (1989). A possible connection between multiscaling and multifractality is discussed in Ref. 10.
