Lattice dynamics of mixed III-V crystals

Abstract
In treating complicated systems such as mixed crystals, one needs to consider four factors carefully. They are the treatment of disorder, the treatment of the underlying lattice structure, the treatment of the interactions, and the efficiency of the calculation. Here we adapt a method we developed to the study of the dynamics of mixed crystals. The method we propose incorporates the physical factors in a natural way. The feasibility and validity of the method are demonstrated by calculating the frequency spectra of a binary system and a pseudobinary mixed crystal.
