Abstract

Reinvestigation of published neutron scattering data on 2H-TaSe2 shows that the published periodic structural-distortion phase angles are incorrect and need adjustment. This alters the atomic displacements and thus the phasing of the Se sublattice with respect to the Ta sublattice. It is also shown that this investigation has an ambiguity of ±π and thus leaves the sense of the atomic displacements undetermined.
