Abstract

The simplified scaling of the orbital upper critical field, Hc2(T), for an isotropic s-wave superconductor is introduced. To facilitate the analysis of the experimental data, we suggest a simple but accurate approximation of the Helfand-Werthamer upper critical field in the entire temperature range valid for any transport scattering rate: Hc2/Hc2(0)(1t2)/(1+0.42t1.47).
