The editors of Physical Review Accelerators and Beams are pleased to announce the introduction of a new article type: Letters, effective May 1, 2025.
PRAB Letters will provide a venue for the rapid publication of concise, high-impact research reports that communicate important new results in accelerator and beam physics. This new format complements the journal’s existing article types, including Regular Articles and Review Articles.
Letters are a well-established format across the Physical Review journals for timely dissemination of significant findings. PRAB Letters will receive expedited editorial handling to facilitate prompt peer review and publication. As with all PRAB articles, Letters will be published fully open access and free of charge to authors.
Authors may submit directly to PRAB Letters, or benefit from a streamlined transfer process: manuscripts submitted to Physical Review Letters that do not meet the scope or selectivity criteria of PRL, but are still of strong interest to the accelerator and beam community, can be quickly and easily transferred for consideration as a PRAB Letter.
More information, including word count and formatting limits, is available in the APS Length Guide.
We invite researchers to submit their best short-format work to PRAB and look forward to publishing many outstanding PRAB Letters in the years ahead.
