Photoionization cross section and resonance structure of ClI

Abstract

The photoionization cross sections for the 3p and 3s subshells of the ground state of atomic chlorine have been calculated using many-body perturbation theory. We find significant electron-electron correlation effects for both cross sections. Resonances due to the 3pn4d, 3pn4s, and 3s3pn5p configurations, and relaxation effects in the 3p subshell cross sections were also calculated.
