Abstract
The photoionization cross sections for the and subshells of the ground state of atomic chlorine have been calculated using many-body perturbation theory. We find significant electron-electron correlation effects for both cross sections. Resonances due to the , , and configurations, and relaxation effects in the subshell cross sections were also calculated.
