Abstract

The number and distribution of disintegration protons to be expected from the H2(n,p) reaction at 90-Mev incident neutron energy is calculated phenomenologically. No assumption about the character of nuclear forces is required, the impulse approximation allowing direct use of high energy np and pp scattering data. Agreement with experiment is satisfactory, there being no evidence for a difference between nn and pp interactions.
