CzechELib Open Access Agreement

APS has an Open Access Agreement to support CzechELib and authors publishing Open Access in hybrid open access Physical Review journals. The institutions eligible for the agreement are listed below.

CzechELib Arrangement Terms and Conditions

Agreement Period
January 1, 2026 – December 31, 2028, inclusive of both dates.

Open Access Publishing
Eligible articles published in participating titles under this arrangement will be published with a CC-BY license at no cost to authors.

The costs of publishing on an open access basis in the following journals are centrally covered by the agreement:

Non-Participating Journals
An open access Article Publication Charge (APC) may be due in these journals. We recommend contacting your library, which may have funding available to support open access fees.

Author Eligibility Criteria
Eligible Authors are:

• officially affiliated with one of the participating institutions listed below, and
• identified as the corresponding author in the initial instance of submission of a manuscript to one of the participating Physical Review Journals.

Article Eligibility Criteria
Eligible Articles:

• are submitted by an Eligible Author,
• list one of the participating institutions listed below as the affiliation of the Eligible Author,
• are accepted for publication by a Participating Journal during the Agreement Period, and
• are one of the article types acceptable under the policies of the Participating Journal, including but not limited to: Regular Articles, Letters, Rapid Communications, Reviews, Perspectives, and Short Papers.

Article Cap
There is no cap under this agreement, and eligible authors may publish unlimited articles.

SCOAP³
APS’s participation in SCOAP³ is fully considered and integrated into this agreement. Authors publishing their high-energy physics (HEP) research open access under SCOAP³ may continue to do so as usual. The purpose of this arrangement is to provide centrally funded open access publishing services for authors publishing non-HEP research, and as such it complements APS’ participation in SCOAP³.

Articles submitted by corresponding authors affiliated with the following institutions are eligible to be published open access:

• Extreme Light Infrastructure ERIC

• University of West Bohemia
• VSB – Technical University of Ostrava

Read Access
All institutions taking part in the open access agreement will have access to the full APS package, including all Physical Review journals and Reviews of Modern Physics.
