Abstract

The small angle scattering of π+ from C12 was measured at 115, 167, and 242 MeV from 3 to 10°. These measurements covered the Coulomb-nuclear interference region. New values of the π+C12 total cross section have been used to extract the real part of the forward-scattering amplitude.

[NUCLEAR REACTION C12(π+,π+), E=115242 MeV; measured σ(θπ); deduced RefN(0)ImfN(0).]
