Abstract

The second-order ${}^{6}{Li}$ mechanism proposed by Noble can account for the recent observation of fine structure if the ${}^{6}{Li}^{*}$ and ${}^{8}{Be}$ nuclei are coupled to states of definite $J^{π}$ .
