Scintillation Spectrometer Determination of -Capture to -Capture Ratio in and

Abstract
A useful technique of scintillation spectrometry developed in this laboratory—that of growing crystals containing radioactive nuclei—was employed to measure the -capture to -capture ratio in the orbital electron capture occurring in and . Marshak's formulas were used to calculate the energy of the transition. The -capture to -capture ratio and the energy of the transition are reported as 0.28±0.03 and kev for , and 0.23±0.03 and kev for , respectively.
