The Nuclear Moment of Tl

Abstract
The value of for the state of Tl I is calculated relativistically and compared with the value determined from the formula . With the experimental value of the hyperfine structure splitting of this level, the magnetic moment of the Tl nucleus is found to be: . The values corresponding to the transitions and are also determined and are found to be in agreement with experiment when the effect of a perturbation is taken into account.
