Abstract

The value of ψ2(0) for the 7s state of Tl I is calculated relativistically and compared with the value determined from the formula ψ2(0)=ZiZ02πa3Hn03. With the experimental value of the hyperfine structure splitting of this level, the magnetic moment of the Tl nucleus is found to be: 1840g2.7. The f values corresponding to the transitions p32s12 and p12s12 are also determined and are found to be in agreement with experiment when the effect of a perturbation is taken into account.
