Abstract

The magnetic susceptibilities of lead, silver and their alloys have been determined by a modified Curie balance. They may be expressed by $10^{9} χ = (116.44 \pm 0.68) + (0.764 \pm 0.012) P$ , $P$ being the weight percent of silver. The anomalous results reported previously by Spencer and John in regard to the magnetic behavior of these alloys are not confirmed.
