Abstract
Yields of , , , and at 2 and 3 deg from 16- and 18-GeV electrons on three different targets have been measured at the Stanford 2-mile electron accelerator. The targets were: 0.3 radiation length (r.l.) of Be, 0.3 r.l. of Fe, and a combination consisting of 0.6 r.l. of Fe followed by 0.3 r.l. of Be. The yields are discussed in terms of the Drell mechanism (for , , ), production (), associated production from pions produced by photons (), photodisintegration (), and elastic scattering (). The dependences of the yields have been determined from the ratio of the Be- and the Fe-target yields.
