The American Physical Society has launched full-text HTML versions of more than 200,000 articles throughout the APS journal collection from as early as 2003. Users can now access APS content using high-quality navigation features and mobile-friendly math displays across a range of devices.
"A high-fidelity, robust full-text HTML display of content has been a long-term goal for our journals. APS has been heavily involved for many years in contributing to and sponsoring the development of the technical underpinnings of our implementation, including MathJaX (HTML math rendering), the STIX math fonts, and the JATS XML DTD," said Mark Doyle, Director, Journal Information Systems. "It is gratifying to see all of these pieces come together so beautifully for the benefit of our readers."
This new rendering of articles serves as a foundation for future enhancements that will maximize the accessibility of APS content.
